2007 Audi A4 Cabriolet – review, safety, performance specs – CarMagi

The new 2007 Audi A4 Cabriolet is a two door convertible luxury sports car which comes in two trim levels, the 2.0T and the 3.2. For 2007, the A4 underwent some styling changes including an enlarged grille and more aggressive looking covered headlights. The 2.0T is powered by a turbocharged 4-cylinder 2.0 Liter engine that develops 200 hp an 207 lb-ft of torque. The 2.0T runs either FWD or Quattro. The 3.2 is powered by a 3.2 Liter V6 engine that summons up 255 hp and 243 ft-lb of torque. The 3.4 runs a 6-speed automatic with Quattro.

The interior of the Cabriolet is roomy and comfortable, with an optional padded, acoustic roof that comes close to the quiet ride you would expect in a hardtop. Expect with the 2007 A4 as standard equipment, a first-aid kit and high-power radio antenna. Instrumentation is easy to read and ergonomically placed, with a comfortable, adjustable drivers seat.

Cabriolet owners will find that many of the optional items available on the A4 are worth the extra charge just for the fun of having them onboard. Those adaptive high-intensity headlamps are fascinating to observe, turning to the direction you steer, enabling you to see around every bend in the road. Nearly everyone knows how entertaining an optional navigation system can be, making it almost fun to be lost. The 2007 A4 Cabriolet deserves the ability to drive with a thrilling soundtrack playing, especially Wagner’s “Flight of the Valkyries” through a Bose(R) Premium Sound System. Don’t count safety options out, as the A4 has plenty of them, including Rear Side Airbags and a Tire Pressure Monitor.

2007 Audi A4 Cabriolet sets a new standard for safety in a convertible with protection for occupants in the event of a rollover. Onboard sensors cause two protective bars to pop up when a rollover is about to occur, effectively serving as a roll bar to protect the occupants. Keeping you from further harm is the A4’s 4-wheel ABS with brake energy apportionment system, plus Audi’s skid control system. Audi also has its occupants covered with front side and side curtain airbags.

Handling dynamics in the A4 Cabriolet are astonishingly agile and smooth, with minimal body flex and noise. The Audi A4 2.0T gets 23 mpg city, 34 mpg highway, while the 3.4 gets 17 mpg city, 27 mpg highway. The 2007 Audi A4 Cabriolet is surprisingly quiet, good-looking, fast, and luxurious for its price range.
