2012 Chevrolet Tahoe Review and Prices

With 10 different colors to choose from and moderately priced at just $38,530, consumers should have no problem hopping into one of these family-sized SUVs. The exterior sports subtle yet impressively stylish lines. The large rear windows allow for maximum visibility while in the cabin. This is especially helpful in providing maximum safety for the driver, as are the standard daytime running lights. A keyless remote entry system adds to the overall convenience provided by Chevy. Heated mirrors and all-season tires allow for the Tahoe to handle nearly anything those harsh winters can toss at it. Traction Control coupled with Electronic Stability Control should provide the driver with the peace of mind to know that whether the Tahoe is on the paved city streets or the beaten path, this SUV is equipped to handle the job. The stylish grille has a honeycomb design and dual bi-xenon headlights. The front bumper also has built-in tow hooks. Surprisingly this SUV has some pretty serious heavy-duty capabilities. It’s not just for soccer moms. The nearly foot of ground clearance further adds to the off-road potential of the 2012 Chevy Tahoe.

Under the hood this SUV has an impressive 5.3-liter Sequential Fuel Injection engine with 320 horsepower. A 6-speed automatic transmission is standard on the LS, LT and the LTZ models. All models also have 4-wheel drive and an independent front suspension, coupled with a 5-link rear suspension. Four anti-lock disc brakes add to the overall surefootedness (so to speak) of the 2012 Tahoe.

Inside the cabin Chevy has not only provided one of their best luxury experiences, but also managed to provide extreme safety for all riders. It comes with front and side airbags, as well as thorax protection. All services offered by OnStar also come standard with all 3 models of the 2012 Tahoe. Tire pressure monitoring is standard on all models as well and Remote Vehicle Start is standard on the LT and LTZ and available on the LS. For the comfort and luxury side, dual-zone climate control and heated front leather seats allow for the driver and front passenger to ride in complete relaxation. Driver lumbar support comes standard on all models, and passenger lumbar support is available on the LT and standard on the LTZ. A rearview camera with a screen mounted on the dash helps provide extra vision while in reverse. A GPS navigation system is not available on the LS, available on the LT and standard on the LTZ. Chevy has also included a 3-month trial of Sirius XM satellite radio on all three models. CD, radio and MP3 capabilities also come standard, as does Bluetooth technology. Bluetooth technology allows the driver to communicate to callers through a microphone in the cabin, while listening to them through the premium sound system.

All-in-all, the overall convenience and functionality provided by the 2012 Chevy Tahoe is more than enough to suit a variety of needs. Whether you’re a soccer mom, outdoorsman, contractor, or none of the above, you’ll want to check out this year’s Tahoe by taking it for a test drive.
